Hello,
April was a month packed with exciting moments at Baya Systems. We wrapped up the month by attending the Andes RISC-V CON in Silicon Valley, where we proudly served as a Gold Sponsor. Dr. Eric Norige, our Chief Software Architect, had a compelling discussion with Pallavi Sharma from Imagination about the evolving role of RISC-V in AI and graphics. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Nandan Nayampally, also took the stage, sharing insights on how data movement is transforming modern computing. The event not only offered valuable industry knowledge but also facilitated great networking opportunities.
But it wasn’t all business! We closed out the month with a fun in-office sushi-making class, giving our team a chance to bond, learn something new, and enjoy some delicious sushi together. At Baya, we believe in the power of team-building activities to foster creativity and collaboration, and this event was the perfect way to unwind and connect outside of work.
Also in April, our podcast Tech Threads: Weaving the Intelligent Future released a new episode featuring a conversation between Nandan Nayampally and Keith Witek, COO of Tenstorrent. They dove into the future of AI and its challenges, including how Tenstorrent’s open platform approach is reshaping the industry. You can catch the full episode now and hear more about the latest innovations in AI and chip design.
April was a month full of learning, collaboration, and growth, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going into May!
We are thrilled to invite you to our Neural Networking Happy Hour on Tuesday, May 20th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Baya Systems office, conveniently located in the TechMart building, just a short walk from the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Join us for an evening of engaging conversations, delicious appetizers, and a full bar—an ideal way to kick off Embedded Vision Summit week. Whether you’re attending the summit or simply in town for meetings, this event provides the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow industry leaders, innovators, and tech enthusiasts.
We would love to have you with us for this special evening! Please be sure to register to save your spot. We look forward to connecting with you soon!
In the second episode of the “Tech Threads: Weaving the Intelligent Future” podcast, host Nandan Nayampally, Chief Commercial Officer at Baya Systems, interviews Keith Witek, Chief Operating Officer at Tenstorrent. The discussion focuses on the new frontiers of AI and the technological challenges they present. Witek, a seasoned technology executive with a rich background at companies like Google, SiFive, Tesla, and AMD, shares insights into Tenstorrent’s recent ~$700 million fundraising and their mission to bring high-performance RISC-V cores to data centers and mobile phones. He emphasizes the importance of open platforms, drawing parallels to how Linux competes with Windows, and highlights Tenstorrent’s partnerships, such as with Baya Systems, to enhance system design efficiency and speed up market delivery.
The conversation also delves into broader industry trends, including the consolidation of control points in the supply chain, the impact of trade wars, and the need for sovereign technology development to reduce dependency on monopolies.

Witek and Nayampally discuss the transformative potential of AI, predicting disruptions in sectors like autonomous driving, healthcare, and entertainment, where AI could redefine business models and societal structures. They explore the role of chiplet technology in making hardware more agile and cost-effective, advocating for standardization to foster innovation. The episode concludes with a call to join the open platform movement to accelerate progress, overcome barriers like slowing Moore’s Law, and create a larger market pie for all stakeholders.
At the Andes RISC-V CON in Silicon Valley, Baya Systems was proud to be a Gold Sponsor of this event, which brought together key industry leaders and fostered thought-provoking discussions. One of the standout moments was the engaging conversation between Dr. Eric Norige, Chief Software Architect at Baya Systems, and Pallavi Sharma, Director of Product Management at Imagination. Their discussion delved into the evolution of RISC-V technology, particularly its potential in areas like AI and graphics. This exchange highlighted the collaborative spirit driving RISC-V innovation and the importance of cross-industry partnerships in pushing the boundaries of embedded systems.
In addition, Nandan Nayampally, Chief Commercial Officer at Baya Systems, shared valuable insights in his keynote on how new paradigms of design for scale and in particular, chipets, are transforming the landscape of modern computing. Both talks, along with many others, offered fresh perspectives and underscored the immense potential of RISC-V technology. The event also featured hands-on technical sessions and ample networking opportunities, making it a fantastic experience for all attendees. We’re excited to continue the conversations and collaborations sparked at the event as we all move forward with RISC-V innovation.
