Starting the Year Strong

Hello there,

Baya Systems entered 2025 on the wave of strong momentum. The year began with the announcement of a successful Series B funding round, with new strategic partners in Maverick Silicon and Synopsys Inc., and welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors, whose expertise will help guide the company’s next phase of growth.

Baya Systems’ leadership was also highly active in industry events this past month, participating in two panels at Chiplet Summit 2025 and hosting a DVCon panel happy hour in collaboration with Root Ventures on January 27th. The Baya Systems team has also added a number of new stalwarts. These milestones mark just the beginning of what promises to be a significant and fast-paced year of growth and innovation for our team and our customers.

Series B Funding Announcement

Baya Systems has secured $36+ million in a Series B funding round led by Maverick Silicon, with continued support from Matrix Partners and Intel Capital, along with a strategic investment from Synopsys.

Since emerging from stealth mode in 2024, Baya Systems has made rapid progress in advancing chiplet and system-on-chip (SoC) design through a software-driven approach. As demand for modular SoC solutions continues to grow – fueled by AI acceleration and data-intensive applications – and while there was plenty of runway from its Series A round, this funding will enable Baya to expand its team and accelerate the development of its technology portfolio.

Baya Systems Expands Board of Directors

We are pleased to welcome Manish Muthal of Maverick Silicon and Siva Yerramilli of Synopsys to its Board of Directors. Both bring extensive expertise in semiconductor IP, AI computing, and scalable system development, further strengthening the company’s leadership team.

Muthal and Yerramilli join Chairman Jim Keller, CEO Sailesh Kumar, and Matrix Capital’s Stan Reiss in guiding Baya’s mission to redefine AI acceleration and intelligent compute architectures through software-driven IP solutions. Their strategic insights will support our efforts to scale its operations and drive innovation in high-performance system-of-chiplet designs.

CEO Reflections: From Vision to Reality

Two years ago, Baya Systems was founded with a vision to address one of modern computing’s most pressing challenges – efficient data movement in an era of AI acceleration and networking convergence. Today, we have grown into a company of nearly 50 engineers and technologists, delivering cutting-edge solutions that are reshaping the semiconductor and data movement landscape.

In this new blog post, CEO Sailesh Kumar reflects on the company’s journey, the growing demand for disruptive innovation in AI-driven computing, and how the latest funding round marks a pivotal moment for Baya’s growth. He discusses the expansion of the team, the acceleration of product development, and the company’s long-term strategy for advancing chiplet-based design methodologies.

A Time to Skill Up and Scale Up

At Baya Systems, innovation in System on Chip (SoC) fabric design begins with building the right team. As we advance interconnect solutions for AI, HPC, and automotive semiconductors, we are expanding our expertise with strategic hires in product management, technical sales, architecture, and hardware engineering.

These new team members bring deep industry experience, strengthening our product vision, accelerating execution, and enhancing customer engagement. With a focus on optimizing performance and scalability, Baya Systems continues to push the boundaries of next-generation chip design.
